About Shore Therapy

Therapy begins with trust.

At Shore Therapy, we believe that people are more than a diagnosis. We provide a warm, respectful space where clients can be authentic, understand the patterns shaping their lives, and build practical tools for meaningful change.

Our clinicians draw from established, evidence-based approaches while tailoring treatment to each person's experiences, goals, culture, and strengths. Care is collaborative, confidential, and grounded in ethical practice.

We understand that people think, learn, communicate, and experience the world differently. Rather than expecting every client to fit one way of doing therapy, we adapt our communication, pace, structure, and tools to support each person's individual way of processing.

Our clinicians

Care that meets you where you are.

Founder & Clinical Director

Amy Couch, LPC, CSOTP, LSATP

Amy is a licensed professional counselor with more than two decades of experience across community, school, inpatient, correctional, and private-practice settings. Her work centers on trauma recovery, cognitive restructuring, relationships, substance use, gender and sexual identity, sex addiction, and helping clients move from survival toward a stronger sense of self.

Her approach combines compassion, neuroscience, practical skill building, and evidence-based treatment, including CBT, trauma-focused CBT, completion of EMDR Parts I & II, and the formal EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ credential. She has extensive experience supporting people with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence through care tailored to how each client thinks, learns, communicates, and regulates. As a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP), she also brings specialized experience to sexual behavior treatment and work with justice-involved clients.

Resident in Counseling

Alexa Allen, M.S.Ed.

Practicing under the supervision of Amy Couch, LPC.

Alexa works with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, questions related to gender identity or sexual orientation, and self-esteem challenges.

She emphasizes a safe, welcoming therapeutic relationship and adapts treatment to each client's needs using approaches that include CBT, attachment-based care, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.

Neurodivergent-affirming care

Different minds deserve care that fits.

ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence can shape attention, communication, emotions, sensory experiences, relationships, learning, and daily life. We work with children, teens, and adults from a place of understanding—not judgment—and recognize both the challenges and the strengths that can come with thinking differently.

We learn how you process

We take time to understand how you absorb information, communicate, organize thoughts, experience emotions, and make sense of the world.

We tailor the therapy

Sessions may include clearer structure, visual or written tools, practical strategies, flexible pacing, sensory awareness, and direct communication based on what helps you engage and learn.

We build from your strengths

Care can address executive functioning, emotional regulation, masking, burnout, self-esteem, routines, and relationships without treating your differences as something that must be erased.

How we can help

Individualized support for real life.

We serve children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Your care plan is shaped around your goals, identity, relationships, and lived experience—not a one-size-fits-all formula.
